IRC Chat Commands Cheat Sheet
IndianChat rooms run on IRC (Internet Relay Chat), one of the oldest and fastest chat systems on the internet. You don't need any commands to chat – but these make you a power user.

Protect your nickname
Want to keep your favourite nickname? Most IRC networks have a service called NickServ. Registering usually looks like this:
/msg NickServ REGISTER yourpassword you@example.com
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY yourpassword
Use a password you don't use anywhere else. Your email address stays private and is only used to recover your nickname.
Jump between rooms quickly
Every page on IndianChat opens its own room, but with /join you can be in several at once: #allindia, #chatkaro, #hindi, #tamil, #telugu, #cricket and many more.
A little history
IRC was created in 1988 and still powers communities around the world because it is lightweight, fast and works on slow connections. You can read more on Wikipedia's IRC article.
